Your Next Favorite Brand - SubX (Subdued Excitement)

Every once in a while, you come across a grower doing something a little different that you get really excited to see. That's what SubX is to us.

Short for Subdued Excitement, SubX is a Washington cannabis brand with decades of growing experience and a serious passion for quality flower. Based just outside Bellingham, they've built their reputation around unique genetics, carefully grown cannabis, and some strong Pacific Northwest roots.

Why Do We Love SubX?#

Well, for starters, they know how to grow some good weed!

SubX is all about premium-quality cannabis flower. They focus on unique strains with interesting terpene profiles, and they put a lot of care into bringing out the best in each one.

Their flower is grown in small batches, hand-trimmed, and cured differently depending on the strain to help preserve its unique characteristics. They even conduct additional pesticide testing beyond Washington State's standard requirements.

Between the unique terps and their attention to quality control, these guys seriously know how to grow some fire.

It's All About the Genetics#

One of the coolest things about SubX is their dedication to genetics.

Instead of sticking to the same handful of strains everyone else carries, SubX works with a mix of modern classics, hype cultivars, and original crosses from their own breeding projects with @heavykushna.

One great example is their in-house "Poisoned" lineup, a collection of original strains developed using Orange Poison genetics from Obsoul33t Genetics. This includes Poisoned Zkittlez, Poisoned Roses, Poisoned Gorillas, and Poisoned Gelato.

And their genetics don't stop there.

Some of their other strains come from well-known breeders in the cannabis industry. Their SinMints comes from none other than Sin City Seeds, and their Do-Si-Dos from the well-known Archive Seed Bank.

For anyone who enjoys exploring new cannabis strains or learning about the genetic lineage behind their favorite flower, that's a pretty cool thing to see from a Washington grower.

A Little Pacific Northwest Personality#

Another reason we like SubX is the story behind the brand.

The name Subdued Excitement comes from Bellingham's unofficial nickname, "The City of Subdued Excitement." It's a nod to the laid-back lifestyle of the Pacific Northwest, where outdoor adventures, snowboarding, and good weed all fit right in.

It's a brand that feels genuinely connected to Washington cannabis culture.
